A BN ARBOL FRUIT COLLECTION MACHINE
DESCRIPTION
Object of the Invention
The present invention relates to a fruit picking machine on tree, which provides essential characteristics of novelty and notable advantages over the means known and used for the same purposes in the current state of the art
More particularly, the invention proposes the development of a self-propelled machine for collecting tree fruits of the type that use a vibrating device to act on the trunk of the fruit tree,
substantially improved with respect to other machines existing in the state of the art by including essential features such as incorporation of a single sensing device, inclusion of conveyor belts that do not bear fruit, independent adjustable suspension in each of the wheels included in the chassis of the machine for the movement of the latter, laterally movable cab to reach a position of movement and a working position with greater visibility of the operator, and means that allow "folding" the machine (by approaching both side frames), with a considerable reduction of width that facilitates the transport of the machine and the entry into storage.
The field of application of the invention is comprised within the industrial sector dedicated to the manufacture of harvesting machines for any type of fruit.
Background and Summary of the Invention

Fruit picking machines on trees are already known in the state of the art. Generally, they consist of a rigid structure constituted by two lateral frames that at the bottom leave an open longitudinal space for the passage of the tree trunk while the machine moves during the collection process, and whose open longitudinal space includes vibrating elements, of timed operation, which come into operation when the probes located on the side frames detect the presence of a fruit tree trunk. The vibratory action causes the fruits to detach and fall on mobile media that feed them to peeling means that perform the peeling of the fruit and then feed them to storage hoppers that are foldable for the unloading of the already peeled fruits.
An example of a machine. collector of the type just commented, is the machine described in the Utility Model U-200002889, shown as prior art in Figure 1 of the attached drawings. In this Figure, the collecting machine comprises two side frames (3, 4), solidly welded together by means of
porticos (1, 2) vertical, parallel, extended
superiorly in the transverse direction of the machine, with two channels (7) in lower position, inside each of which extends a drive spindle (8), with a vibrator (10) mounted on guides (11) with the possibility of moving along a predetermined path, so that when a probe detects the presence of a tree trunk in the open longitudinal space between both channels (7), the vibrator acts timed on the trunk of the tree, causing the fruits to fall on inclined trays (6) to direct them into the channels (7) in which they are transported by the spindles (8) to stripping devices (not visible in this

Figure), for later storage in the hoppers (14). The machine includes a cabin (12) from which an operator controls the various operations of the machine.
Other components of the machine are also referenced in the aforementioned Figure, although there is no reference to them because they are not considered of interest for this description.
The harvesting machine described in the Utility Model U-200002889, whose main elements have been mentioned in a summary way in the foregoing, has complied perfectly with the inision for which it was initially developed, and has allowed the collection of the fruits has been able to be performed automatically, with minimal impact on the integrity of the tree collected
However, the continuous research carried out by the applicant in order to perfect the already existing machines, has led to the improvement of a series of components of the collecting machine, which as a whole make the latter much more effective since the operative point of view, both in terms of the collection operations itself as regards the displacements that the machine must necessarily carry out.
In this sense, the present invention has introduced a set of very significant improvements on the structural components that favor the operability and control of the machine, which have been materialized as follows:
- use of a single probe for the process
full;
- incorporation of conveyor belts instead of

spindles, for better protection of harvested fruits;
- large capacity toivas;
- incorporation of hydraulic suspensions
indepients in each of the wheels for a better adaptation to the irregularities of the land during the collection, or to reach the desired height during the transports;
- laterally movable cab, moved by means of cylinders (hydraulic or pneumatic, as appropriate), for positioning in two opposite positions: inside the machine, with a reduction of the global width ion to a minimum value, it is recommended for the operations of displacement, and an external position, that is to say displaced laterally, for a better visualization of the operations on the part of the user and so that it does not interfere with the branches of the tree during the collection, and
- ability to "fold" the machine by virtue of a hinge effect, achieved by folding into both porticos, with the consequent approach of the side frames and a reduction of the total width of the machine that allows its movement and passage from it through the warehouse door; the porticos are released by extracting bolts that stiffen them in the operating condition of the machine, that is to say in the deployed position.
In this way, the suit is a machine
collector with the capacity to adapt to the different operating conditions of the same, either during the operations of harvesting the fruits in tree, or during the operations of transports and access to the warehouse.

The invention will become more clearly apparent from the detailed description that follows of a preferred embodiment thereof, given only by way of illustrative example and without any limiting character with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 (already commented), shows a schematic representation of a prior art collecting machine, described in Utility Model U-200002889;
Figure 2 is a schematic view, taken from the front of a machine according to the invention in its collecting condition;
Figure 3 is a front schematic view equivalent to the view of Figure 2, but with the machine in the folded condition and ready for travel, transport and / or storage;

Description of the Preferred Embodiment Form
As mentioned above, the detailed description of the preferred embodiment of the object of the invention will be carried out in the following with the help of the attached drawings, through which the same numerical references to designate the same or similar parts. Thus, referring first to Figure 2 of the drawings, the schematic representation of a machine is observed

according to the invention, indicated in general with reference numeral 15, composed of two side frames 16, 17 separated from one another by an opening
longitudinal intermediate of sufficient width to admit the passage of a trunk, of usual diameter, between both frames when the machine moves during the operations of harvesting the fruits of a tree (not shown). Each of the side frames 16, 17
It incorporates wheels 18 for its displacement, counting each of the wheels with independent suspension means 19 in each wheel, which facilitates the adaptation of the machine to the irregularities of the terrain and also the regulation of the height during transport.
The connection between both side frames 16, 17 is carried out by means of porticos 20, 21, parallel between
yes, extended according to the transverse direction of the machine and separated in longitudinal direction by a previously established distance. These porticos are conceived in the same way, that each of them is composed of four segments articulated successively with each other. Referring to the portico 2 0 for the purpose of description, two of the segments consist of vertical uprights 22, each fixed and emerging from each respective side frame 16, 17, and the other two segments
referenced as 23, they extend according to the upper horizontal direction in general, articulated respectively with the vertical uprights 22 at tilting points
24, and with each other by means of a tilting means 25 in central position. This same provision can be appreciated in relation to the portico 21, with respect to which the description is omitted in order to avoid unnecessary repetitions.
In correspondence with articulation points 24,
25, there is a means of fixing each portico 20, 21 in

its operative condition, consisting of two fixing lugs 26, associated with each respective portico segment, superimposable on each other and provided with facing through holes to admit the insertion of anchor bolts.
On the other hand, each of the side frames 16, 17 of the machine of the invention includes, in a conventional manner, a longitudinally extended channel 27, in mutually opposite positions those of both frames, in which interior a displacement means 28 is housed of the fruits collected. These means of displacement 28 of the harvested fruits consist, unlike conventional technique, of conveyor belts specifically designed and finished to avoid damaging the detached fruits, which drag these fruits towards the back of the machine where the peeling devices are located ( visible in Figure 4) and the storage hoppers (visible in Figure 4) of the peeled fruits.
Additionally, the machine incorporates, as usual, a cabin 29 from which an operator controls at all times the performance of the machine during the collection or displacement operations, although, in the case of the present invention, this cabin 2 9 is not fixed positioning but can be displaced laterally on guides outwards and inwards by means of cylinders (not visible in the Figure). With this, the cabin 29 can adopt an interior position (that is, aligned with the machine as it appears in Figure 2 that is being described), corresponding to the transport position, that is, occupying the minimum possible width, and an external position (not visible in the Figure), that is to say displaced out of the machine 15, corresponding to the operating condition of said machine and

therefore away from the passage space of the trees between both side frames 16, 17 so that it does not affect the rare ones of the tree. In the representation of Figure 2, the cabin 29 appears located on the side frame 17, although this should not be understood as limiting since it could be located on the opposite side frame, as appropriate,
Finally, according to. Conventional, the vibrator 30 is located on one of the sides {in the representation of Figure 2, for illustrative purposes, it is located on the side frame 16}, being able to be coupled to the tree once the presence of the trunk is detected by means of a single probe 31, the operation of the vibrator 30 being timed. According to the invention, said vibrator is movable along longitudinal guides, through a predetermined path, in the opposite direction to the movement of the machine 15, so that this displacement occurs in synchrony with the machine 15 with the static 0 0 vibrator in relation to the tree to which it is applied, during the period of time established by the timer device (not shown) associated with said vibrator. This action allows the machine to maintain a continuous operation, so that once the timing period has expired, the vibrator 30 is released from the tree to which it was applied and returns to its initial position, to start the cycle again when the machine reaches the position of a new tree detected by the probe 31.
Referring now to Figure 3 of the drawings, a schematic representation of the machine 15 shown in Figure 2, taken from the front, in the condition of folded machine is observed. That is, in the condition in which the upper segments 23 of the porticos 20, 21 have been successively folded with
5

with respect to the vertical uprights 22 To do this, it is sufficient to remove the fixing bolts (not shown) housed in the facing holes of the lugs 26, and by means of the actuation of cylinders 32, cause the pivoting of each intermediate segment 23 with respect to the other and with respect to the respective vertical uprights 22. The folding condition shown in the Figure shows how the side frames 16, 17 are now in respectively attached positions, thereby reducing the width of the machine to minimum values.
Figure 4 is a schematic representation of the machine of Figures 2 and 3, seen from behind, in the folded condition. This representation allows to appreciate the position of the hoppers 33 (one in each side frame), which are sized according to sizes much higher than the hoppers of the conventional machines, thus admitting a much greater storage capacity. The conveyor belts 28 of each of the lateral channels 27, drag the fruits in the direction of the rear end of the machine 15, in order to feed them to peeling devices 34 from which they are fed, once peeled, into the interior of both hoppers 33 .
As mentioned previously, the machine of the present invention is self-propelled. Figure 5 of the drawings shows a condition of the machine 15 ready to be moved to any location (another workplace, travel to the warehouse, etc.), where the structure of the machine is mounted on a platform 35 supported by the wheels 18 associated with each of the side frames 16, 17. In the representation it can be seen that the machine is at a predetermined height of the floor surface, which is attainable by means of the independent suspensions 19 associated with each wheel, thanks to each

one of such suspensions 19 includes a cylinder 36 (also visible in Figure 2), which elevates said platform to a predetermined height. The lifting operation for the movement and transport and the return to the operational height when necessary, is controlled by the operator from the cabin 29.
It should be clarified that the numerical references of the
Machine of the present invention have been assigned from reference 15 with the sole effect of avoiding
any confusion with the numerical references of the
Figure 1 illustrative of an equivalent machine of the
prior art.
It is not considered necessary to make the contents of the present description more extensive so that an expert in the field can understand its scope and the advantages that
from it are derived as well as carry out the
practical realization of its object.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, and since the description made corresponds only to an example of preferred embodiment of the invention, it will be understood that within its essentiality multiple variations of detail may be introduced, also protected, that could affect the shape, size or the materials of
manufacture of the assembly or its parts, without this entailing any alteration of the invention as a whole, delimited only by the claims that are
